The Applicant is required to follow the underlaid steps:

  • The Applicant may approach Ms. Armaity Surti or Mr. Burzin Patel or Mrs. Baktavar Dastur at BPP Head Office from Monday to Friday between 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and from 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm.
  • The Wool tops are sold on the spot.
  • Payments are accepted in cash if the buyer is from Mumbai and Cheque or NEFT from buyers outside Mumbai.
  • As of now the cost is Rs. 160/- per Wool top which is 125 Grams.
  • An official receipt is issued.

Sale of Kustie:

The Applicant is required to follow the underlaid steps:

  • The Applicant may approach Ms. Armaity Surti or Mr. Burzin Patel or Mrs. Baktavar Dastur at BPP Head Office from Monday to Friday between 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and from 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm.
  • The Kustie is sold on the spot.
  • Payments are accepted only in cash.
  • The Cost of Kustie varies as per choice.
  • An official receipt is issued.

Sale of Religious Books:

  • The following Books in Gujarati and English are sold:
  • Khordeh Avesta (with meanings) by Erv. Kawasji Kanga
  • Gatha (with meanings) by Erv. Kawasji Kanga
  • Yasht (with meanings) by Erv. Kawasji Kanga
  • Praise in the name of Ahura Mazda by Ervad Burjorji Antia

The Applicant is required to follow the underlaid steps:

  • The Applicant may approach Ms. Armaity Surti or Mrs. Armaity Dharwar at BPP Head Office from Monday to Friday between 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and from 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm.
  • The Books are sold on the spot.
  • Payments are accepted only in cash.
  • An official receipt is issued.

Medical help:

A lump sum amount, once a year is given to the applicants. The applicant can get the application Form from the Staff which is to be filled and submitted with necessary documents. BPP also provides medical help to Parsi/Irani Zroastrians who may not be able to afford medical expenditures to avail this facility.

Applicant will have to submit the following documents:

  • It Returns
  • Salary Slip (Income Details).
  • 1 Passport Size Photo.
  • Adhaar Card / Pan Card Details.
  • Other trusts where applied.
  • Completion of process takes around 10 working days.
  • Tentative expenditure to be incurred in the event of treatment to be submitted in the regular format signed either by the Hospital or Consultant Doctor.
  • Any other document required to be submitted.
  • Submission of Form does not mean automatic sanction or grant being made so requested. The Board of Trustees will decide and sanction the necessary amounts on case to case basis
  • After the amount is sanctioned the Administration informs the Applicant calling for original bills of the sanctioned amount.

Education help:

  • Completion of process takes around 10 working days.
  • The Applicant has to approach the respective Staff with the written application.
  • The application is sent for investigation.
  • If the case is found genuine then the Form is issued.
  • Form is to be duly submitted with all the attachments mentioned in the Form. (Incomplete Form or incomplete required documents is not accepted)
  • After the amount is sanctioned all the original bills of the sanctioned amount is to be submitted.
  • Any other document required to be submitted.
  • Submission of Form does not mean automatic sanction or grant being made so requested. The Board of Trustees will decide and sanction the necessary amounts on case to case basis

2 nd and 3 rd Child Assistance:

In order to entertain the increase in Parsi/Iranian population the scheme is in effect.

2nd Child Assistance :

Child born between April 2009 – March 2010 is granted Rs. 1,000/- per month.

Child born in April 2010 and later is granted Rs. 3,000/- per month.

3rd Child Assistance:

Child born between July 1993 is granted Rs. 1,000/- per month.

Child born between April 2009 – Dec 2011 is granted Rs. 3,000/- per month.

Child born in January 2012 and later is granted Rs. 5,000/- per month.

The Applicant is required to follow the underlaid steps:

  • The Applicant may approach Ms. Armaity Surty at BPP Head Office from Monday to Friday between 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m and 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm with a written application containing the following details :
  • Full Postal Address
  • Mobile number
  • email.
  • Self Attested Xerox Copy of Marriage Certificate.
  • Self Attested Xerox Copies of Birth Certificates of all the children.
  • Self Attested Xerox Copy of Adhar Card of the parent who has applied.
  • Self Attested Xerox Copy of a Cheque for the amount to be transferred through NEFT/RTGS.
  • Self Attested Xerox Copy of 1st Page of Bank Passbook.

  • Only 1 parent can apply.
  • Applicants residing out of Mumbai have to submit a letter of recommendation letter from the Panthaky of the Agiary/Atashbehram in their area or from their local Anjuman.
  • The Applicant must be an Indian Citizen.
  • After the amount is sanctioned, a letter is sent to the Applicant.
  • Completion of the process takes around 1 week.
  • Submission of Application does not mean automatic sanction or grant being made so requested.

Parukh Dharamshalla:

An old age Home for destitute Parsi/Irani Senior Citizens who cannot manage on their own. Free admissions are accommodated in Dormitory system and Paid Rooms are self contained rooms with bathroom and toilet. The facility of keeping your own Ayaah and Wardboy is also available at the cost of the inmate and their guarantor for both Dormitory system as well as in Paid rooms. The Form for Paid Room as well as Free Dormitory is same and is available at Parsi Punchayet Head Office with Mr. Burzin D. Patel which is to be duly filled and submitted along with the following steps:

  • Completion of the process takes around 10 working days.
  • The Applicant has to approach the respective Staff with the written application.
  • The application is sent for investigation.
  • If the case is found genuine then the Form is issued.
  • Form is to be duly submitted with all the attachments mentioned in the Form. (Incomplete Form or incomplete required documents is not accepted)
  • Any other document required to be submitted.
  • Submission of Form does not mean automatic admission in the Dharamshala. The Board of Trustees will decide and approve the admission.
  • The Dharamshala Manager gets the fitness test done after which the applicant is admitted.

Gamadia Polyclinic:

Located in the Gamadia Colony the Medical Practitioners are allotted cubicles in which they practice. The Cubicles are allotted to deserving practitioners as and when there is vacancy.

Gamadia Boys Hostel:

Upcountry Indian Parsi/Irani male students are accommodated in this Hostel on a very nominal fee to help them survive in a hustling city like Mumbai while they Study.

The time limit is 7 to 9 years after which the Student has to vacate the Hostel Room. If any student stops his studies also has to vacate the Hostel Room. The Student must be studying post SSC/ICSE. The Applicant is required to follow the underlaid steps:

  • The Applicant may approach Mr. Yezdi Mowdawalla at BPP Head Office from Monday to Friday between 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
  • The Administration will inquire if the Applicant is from upcountry and fix his appointment with the Board of Trustees for his interview.
  • If the Student is approved by the Trustees in the Interview, the Form is issued to him which is to be duly filled and submitted with the required documents mentioned in the Form.
  • Incomplete Form or incomplete required documents are not accepted.
  • After the submission of the Form an Admission Letter is issued to the Student who will present the same letter to the Hostel Manager, who will collect the Yearly Fees of Rs. 10,000/- via Demand Draft and one time Interest Free Refundable Security Deposit of Rs. 25,000/- also via Demand Draft after which the Manager will hand over the keys of the Room to the Student.
  • There is an in-house Caterer from whom the Students can purchase food upon subsidized payment.
  • The Hostel will remain closed from 1st May to 1st June every year. During this period the students are neither allowed to reside in the Hostel nor store any items in any of the rooms. This is followed strictly.
  • Completion of the process takes around 25 to 30 working days.

Issuance of Doongerwadi Death Certificates (Original and Duplicates):

The Death Certificates are issued for the deceased who have been consigned to Doongerwadi Tower of Silence after 1961 upon payment of Rs. 20/- per duplicate certificate. An additional searching charges of Rs. 200/- is applicable. The duplicate certificates are issued only to the close relatives of the deceased. The Applicant is required to follow the underlaid steps:

  • The Applicant has to approach Mrs. Sawant and Mr. Kalpesi from Monday to Friday between 11.00 a.m. to .1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. who will check their Adhaar Card or Pan Card to ascertain their identity which will help determine their relation with the deceased.
  • If the Applicant is a close relative of the deceased then an Application Form is issued which can be filled on the spot and submitted without any other documents.
  • Incomplete Form will not be accepted.
  • The Duplicate Death Certificate is issued within 2 to 3 working days.
  • Submission of Form does not mean automatic sanction or grant being made so requested.

Avesta Classes at Mumbai, Kalina University:

Founded in the early 1860s by Lady Avabai, wife of Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy, this 158-year-old institution is unique in Mumbai, operating under the Sir Jamshedji Jeejeebhoy Zarthoshty and Mulla Firoze Institute and managed by the esteemed Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP). The institution aimed to train the sons of priests and laypeople in ancient Zoroastrian languages, including Avesta, Pahlavi, Pazand, Persian, Cuneiform, and Sanskrit. It has produced numerous erudite Dasturjis for the Parsi community and preserved ancient Zoroastrian scriptures. Today, students from this institution are recognized as scholars of international repute.

      Brief on course outline:

  • Basic I :- Grammar of Avesta, viz. Alphabets, joining letters to form words, type of words, viz. Nouns, Adjectives, Verbs, Pronouns, Participles, Tenses, formation of small Sentences and their meanings
  • Basic II:- Exposure to Avestan Text, viz. Havan Geh, Uziren Geh, Atash Niyaesh
  • Inter I :- Understanding Sarosh Yasht Vadi and introduction to Grammar of Pahlavi language
  • Inter II :- Understanding Avan Yasht in Avesta and Admonition of Dastur Aderbad Mahrespand in Pahlavi (part I)

Seth P. F. Davar Charitable Trust :

A cosmopolitan Trust for the applicants residing between Churchgate to Dahisar, CST to Mulund and CST to Mankhurd (Up to limits of Greater Mumbai). The Trust grants doles for Educational Help as well as Medical Help. The Trust focuses mainly on the blind and the disabled. The Applicant is required to follow the underlaid steps:

  • The Applicant may approach Mr. Jagdish Solanki at BPP Head Office from Monday to Friday between 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. who will inquire if the Applicant is from the limits of Greater Mumbai as specified above..
  • If the Applicant is within the limits then He/She is issued an Application Form to be duly filled and submitted alongwith the documents mentioned in the Application Form. The Form is politely declined if the Applicant is not within the limits of Greater Mumbai as specified above.
  • At the time of submission of Application Form, the Xerox copies of the Bills are also to be submitted alongwith the other documents. (Incomplete Form or incomplete required documents is not accepted)
  • The application is sent for investigation on a case to case basis.
  • Amounts are sanctioned on a case to case basis.
  • After the sanction the Applicants are informed about the sanctioned amount with a request to submit the original Bills totalling the sanctioned amount.
  • Completion of the process takes around 10 working days.

Higher Education Help:

Graduation Courses in India. (From First Year to Post Graduation covering Degree & Diploma) :

Parsi/Irani Zoroastrian Students after passing their SSC/ICSE/CBSE, pursuing any recognized Graduation Courses can apply for the above Educational help. Application Forms for the same are available at Parsi Punchayet Head Office. The Applicant is required to follow the underlaid steps:

  • The Applicant may approach Mr. Yezdi Mowdawalla at BPP Head Office from Monday to Friday between 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
  • The Administration will inquire with the Applicant if the College Fees is up to Rs. 80,000/- p.a. then the Application Form is issued. If the yearly fees exceeds Rs. 80,000/- the Student has to make an application letter and submit the same with the required documents whose list will be also handed over by the Administration.
  • An Application Form is handed over to the Applicant to be duly filled and submitted alongwith the documents mentioned on the Form.
  • Incomplete Form or incomplete required documents are not accepted.
  • Amounts are sanctioned on a case to case basis.
  • After the sanction the Applicants are informed about the sanctioned amount with a request to submit the original Fee Receipt.
  • Completion of the process takes around 10 working days.

Help for Abroad Studies:

In order to pursue studies abroad (Graduation & Post Graduation), the BPP grants scholarships to such Parsi/Irani Zoroastrian students, who wish to study abroad. Applications are invited by publishing an Ad in Parsi Newspapers which is published at the end of March every year. The Applicant is required to follow the underlaid steps:

  • This particular help is granted once in a lifetime to any Pars/Irani Zoroastrians who is an Indian Citizen holding Indian Passport.
  • The Applicant may approach Mr. Yezdi Mowdawalla at BPP Head Office from Monday to Friday between 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. who will issue an Application Form to be duly filled and submitted with required documents as requested by the Administration.
  • Form is issued only in the first week of April every year which is to be submitted by the end of April in the same year itself.
  • Incomplete Form or incomplete required documents are not accepted.
  • The Application received from the Student who is already studying abroad will not be considered.
  • Only Scholarships are awarded.
  • After Forms are received the Interview of the Applicants is conducted by the Trustees and Committee Members in the Month of June only, who decide the amounts to be awarded.
  • Completion of the process takes around 25 to 30 working days.

Issuance of Minority Certificates:

Minority Certificate is issued only to the Students who have passed their SSC/ICSE/CBSE who seek admission in any College only in Mumbai. This Certificate is mandatory for admission in some of the Colleges in Mumbai. A simple Form is issued to the Applicant to be duly submitted (without any documents) and the Certificate is issued next day.
